WaterAndLife.org . Santa Monica: Jerry Rubin's Disabilities Commission Notice
Progress has been made, but....

Santa Monica still does not have a
Disabilities Commission
You are needed again to speak out and help!
Monday December 3, 2001 6:30 PM
Santa Monica Main Library Auditorium
1343 6th St. (at Santa Monica Blvd.)
During a PUBLIC HEARING of the
S.M. Disability Community Accessibility Committee (DCAC)

Let the DCAC know that you are adding your supportive voice (or reiteratinig your previously voiced support) for the
establishment of an ONGOING, LONG OVERDUE Santa Monica City advisory Commission on Disabilities.

A S.M. City — appointed, 17 member Disability Task Force worked extensively for four months (Nov., 2000 till Feb., 2001) and stated that the City’s highest priority should be the establishment of a Disabilities Commission.

A survey by the Santa Monica Mirror showed that the establishment of a Disabilities Commission in Santa Monica is supported more than two to one.

Please see reverse side for a list of the many Disabilities Commission endorsers including:
Elected officials, neighborhood groups, community and health organizations, religious leaders, disability
rights workers, concerned individuals, businesses and educators as well as our own long-time established S.M.
City hard working Commissions and other neighboring City’s Commissions on Disabilities.

Thank you for your dedication, kindness, help and support!
